IPB2 Freezing

Root Folder
The front USB ports on many cases, the ports on economy-brand or lower-end laptops, the ports on a unpowered USB hub or USB ports extended via a cable can't always deliver a stable supply in line with the IPB2's requirements.
Providing less power than the IPB2 requires won't cause it any damage but it may effect functionality - your computer may not detect the finger print sensor or you may not be able to read cards. You maybe able to capture finger prints only to have your IPB2 freeze when a card enters the field.
We highly recommend you only use the USB ports at the back of your computer or a power USB hub to connect to your IPB2.
